How to Make the Best Oatmeal Ever

A couple months ago, I went through an oatmeal craze. I ate oatmeal every day for breakfast for a few weeks straight. Unsurprisingly, I got tired of it. Part of the reason why was because it was messy. Some days, out of nowhere, it would be spinning in the microwave and suddenly explode. It didn't make any sense! It didn't explode the day before. What was I doing differently? It was too unpredictable.

A few days ago, I started to make oatmeal again. And finally, finally, I perfected my method! Here it is:

How to Make the Best Oatmeal Ever (In My Opinion)

Scoop 1/2 cup of Trader Joe's Oven Toasted Old Fashioned Organic Oats into a microwave-safe bowl. Pour in 3/4 cup of whole milk. Add in a dash of salt to taste and a sprinkle of cinnamon for extra flavor. Mix it a little with a spoon.

Place it in the microwave for 1 minute. It shouldn't boil over (check your settings - maybe the setting is too high). When it beeps, stir the oatmeal.

Place it back into the microwave for 1 minute. Keep an eye on it. About 30 seconds in, it may start to bubble. Take it out before it bubbles over.

Place a plate on top of the hot bowl. This traps in the steam and heat and helps to thicken the oatmeal. Leave the plate on for 7 - 11 minutes, depending on thick you want your oats.

Top it off with slices of banana and a spoonful of Skippy's Creamy Peanut Butter.

Enjoy!
